PPE Pet Supplies has instituted an on-going program to ensure that our impact on our world's environment is reduced substantially today... and even more in the future.

Below are some of the many steps PPE Pet Supplies has taken in our ongoing PPE GREEN Program.

The Packing and shipping of thousands of packages per day requires an enormous amount of paper products from invoices, pulling and packing slips, and cardboard boxes. Some of the steps PPE has taken to reduce the amount of paperwork we generate to get you your order are....

BOXES: The PPE receiving dock processes hundreds of pounds of cardboard every day in the form of boxes wrapped around boxes of the many delivery's from manufacturers. Whenever possible, PPE will re-use these boxes to ship outgoing orders.

IMPACT ON YOU, THE CUSTOMER: You receive your pet gear in a box that may have some of the manufacturers printing on it:
IMPACT ON OUR WORLD: Saving Hundreds of Trees per year and eliminating the pollution that would result if these boxes were sent to an incinerator.

PACKAGING: PPE is constantly working with manufacturers and suppliers to cut down on the amount of packaging used on individual products we sell.

IMPACT ON YOU, THE CUSTOMER: You don't have to fight through as much shrink-wrapped product to get to your pet supplies, you have less packaging to throw away after receiving your order, and smaller packages mean less weight which helps keep your shipping cost lower.
IMPACT ON OUR WORLD: Less plastic, paper and Styrofoam in our landfills, less weight for freight companies so less fuel is used in delivery cutting down on pollution, and less waste in the manufacturing process which helps keep both our air and water cleaner.

LESS PAPER: PPE has eliminated the use of separate pull sheets (what the warehouse personnel use to get your order together), packing slips, and invoices. Now, there is only 1 piece of paper generated per order and it is used for pulling, packing, and shipping.

IMPACT ON YOU, THE CUSTOMER: You may receive a packing slip with your order that has warehouse markings and notes written on it.
IMPACT ON OUR WORLD: By using 1/3 less paper per order, (multiplied by 20,000 orders a year or more) Many trees are left standing and there is 2/3'rds less waste to end up in our landfills or get burned in incinerators.

ENERGY EFFICIENT FACILITIES: Every light bulb in both our warehouse and our offices is a long-life, florescent bulb. This may seem like a small contribution to the environment but the benefits are larger than they seem:

IMPACT ON YOU, THE CUSTOMER: Brighter lights mean more accuracy when pulling and packing your order. Since the light burn much cooler then incandescent lighting less energy is used to cool the buildings meaning lower energy costs which means lower costs to you.
IMPACT ON OUR WORLD: PPE uses 70% less energy to light and cool our warehouse and offices than if we were using incandescent lighting.
